I particularly appreciate how this representation works to minimize the “either/or” stereotypes typically associated with introverts and extroverts.

It can be hard to take when people criticize you cruelly, for no apparent reason. But it’s helpful to remember that in those moments, it can be likely what they’re saying has more to do with them fighting their own inner demons than you. #compassion #emotionalintelligence #selfcare

Children who learn maths working in markets and children who learn maths only from school were both unable to transfer their skills to new contexts, highlighting a need to reconsider how maths is taught in school, according to a paper in Nature. https://go.nature.com/4aXHcuu 🧪

Fake news and other falsehoods rely on our self-centered desire to remain in our comfort zones and believe what is convenient, simplest to understand or lean on what we have been told to accept as fact. Not everything beneficial to us is the true. Learn to broaden your perspective and think bigger.

Not sure what the artist had in mind but to me this sculpture, by Britt-Ingrid Persson, describes people who refuse to see and/or accept the world as it is-filled with the kind of rich diversity that makes us stronger.

A YEAR OF SPACE FACTS: DAY 1/365

The photons we receive from the Sun take a little over 8 minutes to reach us from the surface of the Sun. But they are created deep in the core of the Sun, and it takes them 100,000s of years to get from the core to the surface!

Having mixed feelings is not always about being confused. Understanding and accepting this reality is where we can find #compassion and #empathy. That doesn't mean it's okay to let oneself and others off the hook or not be accountable. But it may help inform how you react and respond.

It’s sad but true (at times)
Liberal hypocrisy on schools and housing keeps me humble. I'm on the left, but a keen understanding of our bullshit (that I'm completely unwilling to discuss with anyone who isn't on my side of the political aisle) keeps me grounded.
