I reckon contact Apple and tell them the problem. You never know, they might send you a replacement. I’ve been lucky with them doing things out of warranty before with small things.

I think it's just right, getting the picture before the tide came in, that's the one!
Definitely alchemy. I can never figure out the maths on exposure times.. I check what the light meter says and then go with my gut anyway.
