The raw water discussions lack some history. I grew up drinking cold water from creeks in uninhabited, livestock-free mountains. It was safe until around 1990. Then, Giardia was introduced into western mountains by people carrying the parasite from Russia. There is no longer any safe wild water. 1/2

In the US, many social services are provided by religious orgs which can discriminate against LGBTQIA+ people or force them to listen to anti-LGBTQIA+ sermons for services. Even if they don't, so many in the community have experienced religious trauma that they won't use the services.
The Biden administration stripped protections for LGBTQ students from the school lunch program. Schools can openly discriminate against LGBTQ students now in food programs with no federal consequences.

I recommend same-sex partners treat their marriage as though gay marriage is not recognized and think of the legal documents they may need because, to be frank, the supreme court may overturn gay marriage.

Got mad enough about this that I turned this thread into a blog.
Kamala Harris did not engage in overt identity politics.
Donald Trump did. It probably helped him.
And yet, pundits like Weiss, Stephens & Dowd treat identity politics *only* as a failed Dem tactic.
