From everything I have been reading from the anti-Trans government reports... It's hard to disagree with this.
The point in antagonizing trans people is you all want us to die. If that makes you uncomfortable, imagine being trans for two seconds and wake the fuck up, why don't you ...

Dunno if y’all’s believe me but probably my best friend in Massachusetts is an incredibly Jewish, incredibly gay, tiny little New Yorker.

We’re such an odd pair I want to pitch a travel show where we go town to town, me making them do redneck shit like duck hunting and them taking me to Drag Brunch
One of my life long buddies is a tall, handsome, ginger who’s laid back but also meticulous. He kept a 94 Ford Ranger running for 30 years based almost exclusively on detailed maintenance notes. His room has never been dirty or cluttered.

This is a big problem in nonprofits. People come in fast, send money to pet projects to "break things" and "innovate" and then move on leaving the people affected to figure out how to put the pieces back together.
I really don’t think we can overstate the harm that the tech ethos of move fast and break things (followed by the unsaid “and then just move on”) has done beyond tech. Government, ngos, universities, public schools that have invited the folks who think like this in keep ending up gutted
All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail

And we are starting with the first "holiday" event at my sons school where they have a wishlist and everything for the holiday event is xmas themed. Now we get to decide how loud we want to be about this
Fun.

For my next newsletter I am going to read the HHS' report on care for transgender people (or their suggestions of lack thereof). So if I seem a little spicier than usual its bc I am reading what is going to probably be bad science used to bully trans youth.

Not sure why this has been labeled as rude. This is a fair critique of the apology from 50501, which should have focused on the apology. I agree that the language is muted and it starts with a justification rather than an apology or an acknowledgement of the issues people raised.
Critiques: This should have been the first skeet of the apology. I would delete softening language (“which we believe”) and language like “veered close to” when the video actually did promote the conspiracy.
However, commenters flagged that the video erroneously claimed that AIPAC is a “foreign lobby,” which we believe to be untrue. They are a lobby in support of a foreign government, but that is not the same.

That veered the video dangerously close to promoting the “dual loyalty” conspiracy, which is

Liberal groups (e.g. 50501) need to learn that when someone says "this is antisemitic", the correct response is not to double down and hide critiques but to engage with Jewish communities to find out WHY certain things may be antisemitic. The lack of discussion is why liberal groups fail on this.

Preparing to make some pate de fruit and the recipe requires yellow pectin but going to use apple pectin and just getting the right kind of pectin is... sending me down a pectin rabbit hole. + side: Learning a shitton about pectin. -: It's hard to find small batches of good pectin.

This is a fantastic thread but I want to highlight this part of far right ideology which we are seeing. It is too early for me to have more coherent thoughts so gonna keep watching Wild Kratts with my kids.
These people's ideology goes like this: "We are the rightful heirs of the world. We are entitled to everything and can therefore invade other people's lands, whether through weapons or by leveraging our economic power."🧵
Just some British patriots in Benidorm, taking over a street in Spain to shout in their own language about unwanted foreigners. It’s a blessing that they are too thick to understand irony.

Shabbat dinner tonight: yellow pasta (colored with tumeric). Sun and moon raviolis and then I tried my hand at agnolotti for the first time. Filling is: cheese I had in the fridge so feta, Parmesan, & ricotta. Cooked in a brown butter sage sauce.

Fresh challah for shabbat. Last week I brought it to a friend's house for shabbat and the grandparents said it was better than the challahs they used to make! Shabbat shalom.

One project I have always wanted to do was about security costs and procedures at synagogues. Now more than ever understanding how Jewish organizations protect themselves would be useful guides, sadly, for other orgs (this article gets into a lot of the different things orgs are doing).
TPM spoke with executives at nonprofits advocating for immigration reform, action on climate change, democracy, civil rights, and other causes that are largely opposed by the administration.

Today, Aviva's adoption was finalized. After 8 months, she is now fully and legally our daughter. While it is just a legal formality, it is also such an important day for all four of us and we couldn't be happier.

Sometimes I wonder how much more entrepreneurship we would have in this country if our health insurance weren't connected to our jobs. How would work be better and allow for different types of work, including multiple part time jobs, if we didn't have to worry about health care as part of work.

This is a great thread. Jews are often asked to look the other way or "they didn't mean it" around antisemitism bc they are liberals. This is part of the reasons why liberal groups have issues talking about antisemitism. They refuse to think about it within their ranks.
You fucking people will let anyone off the hook for their violent hateful beliefs and all they have to do is say shiny words you like

You’re all a bunch of Nazi tattoo forgiving, Jewish space lasers forgetting gullible marks getting played for fools

As a Jew I suggest you all go fuck yourselves.

Sy needs to bring in an artifact from our culture to class. I suggested a cheesecake to represent two parts of our culture: it can represent Shavous for our Jewish culture and also our gay icons, the Golden Girls! Both cultures represented!

Chicken over potatoes & carrots. Take some bone in chicken. Season liberally under & on the skin. Cut up potatoes & carrots. Season the potatoes with the same seasonings. Put the potatoes on half of the baking sheet, carrots on other half, chicken on top. Cook. When chicken is done, broil potatoes.
