According to this study, inhalers in the US produced 25 million metric tons of emissions over a decade, or 2.5 million/year. Total emissions in the US are 5.5 *billion* metric tons/year. So inhalers produce about half of one tenth of a percent of US emissions.

Not Stephen Miller accidentally outting the regime in an interview. Let that "plenary authority" claim slip right out and then had to act like the audio cut out.

Sir! We heard you.. and the President does NOT have plenary authority.

If you look at Wikipedia’s list of contenders for first interracial kiss on television, Shatner shows up in three of ’em! In the earliest two, he’s kissing women of mixed European/Asian ancestry.

Is there an earlier example of a kiss on the lips between a man and a woman, one Black and the other white, on American TV?

I know that “interracial kiss” technically covers more territory than that, but this is only a matter of interest because of specific American racial bigotries.

“There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. They may have been the architects of the great pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria or Atlantis.…”

S.M. Sterling had a two-book series where the US & USSR colonize Venus and explore Mars in the 1980s, and discover that both worlds are inhabited, old-school sci-fi style. I think it turns out to eventually be due to ancient astronauts, but I never finished it.

I considered trying to write fanfic about an insurance claims adjuster who has to investigate claims relating to the destruction of Alderaan.

I never really got farther than figuring out that the protagonist would have an accounting droid named C-3PA.

Chotiner: So you challenge suspects with inconsistencies in their stories?

Lt. Columbo: Yes sir, that's what I try to do.

Chotiner: And that is why you reveal the evidence against them and the likely theory of prosecution before they've been mirandized?

Lt. Columbo: Hold on a minute, Sir,

Dr Oz: "We have an advantage with AI. You know why? We don't think the way fraudsters think. That's just not what our minds do. The bank managers don't think about bank fraud. They want to do loans and help businesses. Fraudsters think about fraud. So the AI can think the way a fraudster thinks."
