It’s a redesign of his original background image, which was this: I think @skutchdraws.bsky.social made the current one. Shaun’s videos famously don’t show his face and instead are pretty much a still image with occasional clips or images of sources thrown over the top.

This is Shaun Skull, a British YouTuber. A lot of his videos are about Nazis, but from the perspective of countering their rhetoric and ideology. Not a Nazi skull, just a guy who really likes talking about how much they suck.

Buried the lede. This is absolutely about developers wanting to squeeze people into smaller, less functional lots that they will still charge you a premium for.
Urban Reality Check New construction prioritizes compact urban living over suburban convenience. Developers squeeze kitchens into spaces where full-size dishwashers become luxury items rather than standard fixtures. Meanwhile, your DoorDash habit means fewer dishes hit the sink anyway.

#WritingTip On the same topic, why are romantic male leads always smirking? I swear, there's so much smirking in romance novels that it's amazing the word itself doesn't start to look distorted while I read. Which is why it's utterly brilliant when A.K. Caggiano does this when two nemeses face off:
Damien sat back, tipping his head down, narrowing his eyes, and glaring at Xander as if he had been insulted. In return, Xander’s placid smile curled up on one side and his fingers steepled, knuckles cracking as he pushed his hands together. Damien cocked a brow at him, frowning deeper and huffing out a hearty sigh. Xander tipped his head to the side, the foot propped on his knee bouncing lightly. Behind them, the fire crackled, the room’s only light, their forms growing more shadowed, more sinister with each passing moment as they continued to do nothing but just stare at one another as if it were some unspoken contest. The light fell into their deeply hollowed cheeks, reflecting in their eyes like the very pits of the infernal plane burned there. Neither spoke, simply trading half-smirks, wicked glares, and increasingly aggressive poses in the stiff-backed, too-elaborate, probably uncomfortable chairs. #WritingTip: do you tend to overuse words or phrases? They can distract readers. One author I’ve read really likes to note when her characters are feeling ambivalent, I once was a book where the MMC “rasped” nearly every line he spoke, but this … this is pathological.

A large nearly-cubical structure surrounded by a crowd of people. The structure has smooth black sides adorned with bands of golden geometric designs that wrap horizontally around it in two stripes near the top. On the side facing the viewer, a huge golden door-like design, also in gold geometric patterns, reaches to nearly the top “stripe” of gold. Oh wow that’s pretty close! There’s a ballet student at Master Academy that my students all think looks like me. She does, facially, but my feet are way better than hers and her turns are WAY better than mine. lol Also she seems really tall.

The issue with a lot of genre fiction to me is there’s just nothing but plot. Vonnegut or Pratchett definitely use that space to expand onto bigger ideas and use more challenging prose to convey them. That’s definitely a good place to start, I literally just gave a 13 year old Sirens of Titan.

People like this think that anyone can immigrate to any country for any reason if they just "do the paperwork" or wait in a line somewhere. That's simply not the case. For most people, there *is* no legal avenue to citizenship even if you're already here. This infographic from years ago explains it:
a flowchart detailing the ways someone from outside the US can legally become a citizen, as well as how long each pathway takes on average. Basically, the only way to legally immigrate is a) to be the immediate family member or spouse of someone who is a US citizen or lawful permanent resident or b) to be highly skilled and/or educated and have a job offer with an employer who is willing to file paperwork on your behalf and pay your legal fees, or c) be super rich and/or famous. The time to immigrate and then become a citizen varies from 12 months (if you're famous) to 28 years (if you get a green card as the sibling of a citizen).
