I keep reading sea salt or the sea mentioned as a fragrance in books. Idk what these authors are smelling. Salt by itself barely smells like anything and if you think the literal ocean smells good you’ve obviously never been to one.

Hey guess what. Fat shaming isn’t okay just because your target is a bad person. Just like racism, misogyny, ableism, and queerphobia aren’t okay against bad people. Im tired of “progressives” whose supposed values only apply to people they like.

#WritingTip: don’t forget the importance of the reader’s experience to the way your novel is structured. If you’re writing suspense, you can’t reveal too much to the reader too early. This is especially important to books written from 3rd person omniscient or multiple POVs. +

#WritingTip: please for the love of Syndrome don’t write a villain monologue unless you can make clever. A sincere “I’ve been evil this whole time; now listen to me summarize the plot you’ve just read while explaining how all the events were part of my nefarious scheme,” is just not okay.

I sewed some sleeve cuffs on inside out and now I have to remove the stitches but my machine sewed them REALLY tiny because of the stretch in the fabric. Basically I’m saying it’s a Wednesday.

Just so we're all aware here, an individual library has to purchase the rights to the ebook or audiobook in order for that user to be able to read it through Libby.
And purchasing requires money.
And that's something not all rural libraries in red states have a lot of.

Wrote an almost 2000-word book review because a) I have a weird compulsion to read books with ballet dancer MCs just to see how the dance world is represented, and b) this author didn't do a good job, but the way in which she did a bad job was just so baffling I had to talk about it at length.
