Russia and Qatar are more autocratic than us, but does Nate Silver not know how to read?

In ‘18 and ‘22, host nations did say “please come to our country” bc they wanted tourism to launder their reputation.

The US, on the other hand, currently has a hostile regime towards noncitizens.

And all I have to say is that “internationalist nationalism” is not a thing and will inevitably resort to the fractures that define it rather than the binds.

And that’s not a recipe for “working together to prevent any adversary from dominating Europe.”

You get to see a darker side of Meta by being forced to search accounts like this - the posts pulled up beneath this (cropped out bc I don’t care to share that garbage) are AI-generated antisemitic memes and bot thirst traps

I promise I’m not wanting a computer-generated summary of their season, I just want to see if a coaching announcement has been made.

I cannot read the summary of this memo without cringing at how embarrassingly insecure Hegseth is and insistent on making that our problem.

But I do still find it incredible how incapable he is of understanding that the military supports this stuff with the goal of getting scouts into the military!

It’s not the most important thing at hand, but I do wish more Aggies were concerned with the governor/legislature/activist’s overstep on firing Welsh were *at least* mad for the sporting implications

This is what I felt watching Shane Beamer’s timid, hedged shit-talking.

The way Sargon gives a smol bean uwu “no it matters” about Megyn differentiating between toddlers and teens abused by elderly men

Just forcing me into an extra step.

I just wish social media companies were more considerate of, and responsive to, user needs.

I’m not proud about how often I complain about UI/UX, but trying to search for an account on Instagram and if it’s big enough, being forced to use the AI search instead of just being allowed to click into the account is annoying.

This is so bizarre to me!!

Oh it’s “like betting?” That’s what it is?

I find the workarounds in the places where it still isn’t legal to be even more obnoxious.

You know, in recent history, it’s not cattle ranchers that are contributing to beef cost increases, it’s the meat producers oligopoly.

Looking for sports news and came across this and I just want to say, and not trying to dunk on OP here, but I take issue with these kinds of common characterizations.

They over-inflate how conservative Texas A&M and they ignore how conservative other schools are.

I get what Jeffries was *trying* to do with his response, highlight that he’s comparatively doing serious work while Trump is just posting and he’s actually meeting with him.

But I think he would “say it to your face,” Jeffries! I don’t think that’s the problem!

Dawned on me that Pete Hegseth might be the most Mac government official we have.

Pathetically insecure over being perceived as tough, hypocritically hardline identitarian Christian, and you know, other stuff.

Very funny to explicitly tie your appearance in this reputation laundering affair to “free speech” just to be removed because, again, that’s not what this is about.

Jay, mad as hell that I forced him to a Taco Bell to let the menu speak to him as an instrument of supreme design (the drive thru was closed to pedestrians and we had to order an uber to grab our bounty).
