Finally using {pins} #rstats package to share heavy files that can't be shared among collaborators through GitHub, and it works like a breeze! Supports data versioning, cache, etc. Thanks @posit.co

Here using Google Drive to share files, but can use many different servers, see pins.rstudio.com
library("pins")

# specify folder in Google Drive to store objects
board <- board_gdrive("https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/FOLDER_ID")

# upload file
board |> pin_write(big_dataset, "big_dataset.csv", type = "csv")

# retrieve file (e.g. in another computer)
board |> pin_read("big_dataset.csv")

heartbreaking loss of a warrior for conservation and compassion for all forms of life

Breaking News: Jane Goodall, one of the world’s most revered conservationists, died at 91. Her discoveries in the 1960s about how chimpanzees behaved in the wild broke new ground and represented what was called “one of the Western world’s great scientific achievements.” nyti.ms/42kpGxt

We love jumping spiders because they are smol, cute, active, friendly and always looking around curiously with their huge eyes. But do you know they’re also masters of mimicry? Check out the bugs they pretend to be (and some of those are really good)!💚💚

And yet those of us who live in the Boston metro area are left wondering how to get this grilled cheese if we only have the MBTA commuter rail credit card

I use the rjags package. Pretty decent and not too slow with simple models. I saw others rec'ing STAN and Nimble here too, also good options.

I thought they weren't different but I've just learned that it is (for some operations?) 😅 I think I'm maybe not doing anything so sophisticated where I have run into issues but regardless it's funny to see how I got used to the keyboard motions

Thanks for sending this, I was just going to switch completely but I like the idea of using one or the other dependent on context!
