Our foster kittens left for their forever homes this morning. Bittersweet goodbye as they take little pieces of my heart with them. Grateful to Kingston Animal Rescue for supporting their care and finding loving adoptions for them. #kittens #adoptdontshop #ygk

Volunteered at True North Aid's Reconciliation Walk in #ygk this morning and had some good conversations with members of my community.

I also met these lovely girls working the tractor pull.

All of a sudden, they are snuggly.

While they are getting more accustomed to me, they still miss their lives outside. And their mama - how I wish I had been able to catch her too.

It doesn't look like much yet, but I've added a pocket forest behind my garage.

After adding a thick layer of compost and mulch, I have put in two paw paw trees, four hazelnuts, two blackberries, a sand cherry, a ninebark, a nannyberry and some spotted beebalm. 🌱 🌳
A large area of several square feet is covered with mulch. Front left is a large larger plant a few feet tall. Sent wright is a small tree 2 feet tall. In the middle distance are several small branch like plants spaced several feet apart. In the background is a brick wall with a wooden door. A few shrubs are planted against the wall.

I knew our rabbits have certain songs that help them be calm when stressed, so I wondered about the kittens. And found this on my Library's Hoopla collection!

Tomato season has begun!
A shallow wicker basket filled with produce. A bit of green beans supports 17 tomatoes and shades ranging from deep orange to purple-brown. Three small lilac bell peppers and a handful of orange and yellow cherry tomatoes had a splash of bright colour.

Georgie goes to his forever home today. He is enjoying a last breakfast with Taffy - who is now brave enough to come out right away!

Today they started being a little braver when food was involved and she could see that they were curious when their sibling was enjoying a meal. They started to creep closer.

The two newest arrivals like to stay up high where I can't reach them and are out of sight from the floor.
