I suspect it's more based in the rejection of a social contract--like they're opposed to the idea of a government that has responsibilities to the public and is willing and able to achieve them

Y’all remember when somebody got mad, or sad and they had a car they could just drive somewhere in? Now gas is so expensive and cars cost what a plane did when I was born. Truly, I miss the idea. I haven’t done this since 92. Couldn’t now. Is there still Calgon?

This has been on my mind, too. Well put. I feel “sinful” in my lack of gratitude and grace… Soon I hope to regain through practice feeling thankful I am even alive. My health is bad and it’s been dicey. I have less than 50 uncommitted $ per check, but I wanna give it to something good. Locally.
I need to get back there. Back to the art of being grateful. Because without it, the fight consumes you. When you are grateful, you remember what you’re fighting for.
