If you believe the Fairness Doctrine did any of the following, then you may see your posts appear on this page.
Thankful that there doesn't seem to be many terrible FCC or Fairness Doctrine posts to highlight today.

Maybe people are learning? Naah....that probably isn't it.

Where did people get the idea that the Fairness Doctrine set some sort of "news standard"?

Oh, right. Memes.

The Fairness Doctrine was responsible for everything, apparently.

The Fairness Doctrine never prevented anyone from spewing propaganda nor from calling it news (or anything else, for that matter).

1st Amendment says hi.

The deterioration of the political landscape is textbook causation v. correlation. Technology did more to change the landscape than the Fairness doctrine's repeal did, and it ain't close.

MSM today would not be impacted at all by the Fairness Doctrine, since fewer people get their information these days from TV and radio as opposed to cable, internet and podcasts.

Most lies, both before, during and after the Fairness Doctrine era, are protected by the 1st Amendment.

The Fairness Doctrine did not have anything in it regarding suing stations for lying.

Our mashed-potato-for-brains President doesn't know what an FCC license is nor what entities have them.

Oh good...another fucking stupid meme that misinforms people about the Fairness Doctrine.

"I wish the 1st Amendment didn't exist so the government could try to "stomp out" media I don't like!"

All of this is backed up by SCOTUS in the landmark Arbuckle v. Garfield (1983) decision.

Sharing this meme is like taking a gigantic neon arrow that says "I don't understand the subject I'm talking about at all" and pointing it to yourself.
