I moved some errant voi scooters and a lime bike (with a terrible puncture) from blocking the pavement by Warneford Lane roundabout.

People! Don't block pavements with stuff you've hired!
Able-bodied people passing! Do move them if you are able.

Pedestrians, it’s your lucky day: you get to walk in the road.

Some unhelpful parking in Oxford city centre tonight. 🤦🏻‍♂️ @badlyparkedox.bsky.social
A blue Toyota and a black Nissan parked in a bus stop, in front of a bus stop flag on George Street in Oxford city centre at night. There is a bus to the right, parked some distance from the kerb.

The highway boundary here extends to the buildings. The council should put bollards up to keep cars from driving onto the pavement as none of this space belongs to the properties here.

I'm more concerned about the eyesight of that car's owner, mistaking the pavement for a parking bay.

Peak #antisocialparking on Howard Street. Never mind the pedestrians you’re blocking from safely accessing the pavement, your convenience is obviously MUCH more important than this elderly person with a walker.
An elderly man with a walker trying to get on the pavement between two parked cars, having to go around 2 cars blocking the pavement and one blocking a dropped kerb A car blocking the entire pavement and a van parked on DYL A car blocking the pavement, another next to it blocking half the pavement and a van parked on DYL leaving a tiny gap between the pavement blockers

bollards ≠ parking
modal filter ≠ parking
cycle lane ≠ parking

Pedestrians who? I’ll be just a minute. They can wait, or walk around me! Don’t they know I’m more important?! #antisocialparking - a daily sight at Iffley/Howard. Could we get some bollards, please?!

Iffley Road morning shift. Car parked on double yellows in front of a bus stop. Plus a bonus attack on pedestrians from a cyclist ringing his bell at the people who are blocking his way - on the pavement. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

The evening shift has arrived. These junctions must never be clear. It’s a tough schedule but there are always dedicated local drivers doing what has to be done in the name of the antisocial parking movement.

Unlucky if you need to use the dropped kerb or the tactile paving. No consideration to people using wheelchairs, pushing pushchairs, or who are visually impaired. Unfortunately a daily sight on the Cowley Road.

Rogue parking at the hospital seems a daily occurrence. It’s understandable that drivers have different priorities when they arrive at the hospital, but the double red lines and yellow hashed boxes are there for a reason: to keep everyone safe and allow safe access for EMS, buses and other drivers.

Also in a school street? 🤔

@badlyparkedox.bsky.social these on double yellows, both sides of the road to pick up kids from Tyndale School, Oxford. Very close to the traffic lights.

And yet, they drive for a living.

Pedestrians? Not my problem. Look, not my fault the Victorians built this terrace without a decent size drive!

I recently spoke in Parliament about the impact of pavement parking—a concern I hear often from constituents with disabilities, sight loss or mobility aids.
It makes everyday journeys harder and more dangerous. Councils need proper powers to act.
Everyone deserves safe, accessible streets
