The sheriff’s ASSOCIATION issued a statement because one of their members had a pig meme drawn on their cop. Imagine if they found out what actual public employees and fast food workers/service workers had to put up with, and without benefits or full time hours!!!

I made an 18x24 of the night and twilight, but im undecided if i want to crop the bottom one differently, it FEELS off center, but i dont want to remove the left shoreline.

Here's my panorama of dusk in Death Valley/Badwater Basin on Saturday. This was an error filled session and the water isn't perfectly aligned. I was glad to capture the ripples but couldnt get them totally aligned right. Maybe someday I'll spend more time on it digitally, but not soon.

Based on the assessment of one of the boat crew members and also guy who runs large outdoor digital assets LA COUNTY DID have lenticular clouds yesterday! but i was on the wrong side of the county!

In the ktla article they noted the deputy was "in the middle of a 16 hour shift" - must be nice to get extra hours in this economy!

I've never done one of these dumb tourist reels before but I really want my 20 Instagram followers with good cameras to go touch salt water that isn't the Pacific Ocean. Hope some of you can too! I made some mistakes and hope some doesn't!

Here's my tourist post on this so it's easier for folks to plan. Highly rec you take 2-3 days to go and explore with your family in the next several weeks, if you can afford it. Totally worth it. Big shout out to @nowcowan.bsky.social for the tips.

Lackluster astrophotography, unfortunately. I couldn't find my good tripod head in my van so had a REAL wobbly mount and after 5 shots dropped my camera, so I called it a night. SUPER tempted to go back tomorrow night and just take 8 second shots and stack, but I gotta have my A game for work.
