Very interesting! I’ll try coloring them to figure out what they swapped around. Might be a case of the packaging people running into the same bug.

The SFC manual artist swaps two pairs of them, too. Also, in general I love that the game doesn't know what ribbons even are in the first place (on a real uniform they represent medals, not separate merit badges).

The Claw Marks artwork is also useless for identifying anything but I also think it's wrong... the shapes don't entirely line up to the ones in the game (surely what Claw Marks calls the Ace of Aces ribbon is the game's Rapier qualification).

I love how the artist that does the Super Famicom manual takes the reduced color art from the game and interprets it as checkerboard patterns. Also how useless the Super Wing Commander ribbons are; they barely appear in the game and the manual doesn't even try to identify them.
