When I worked for a museum we were constantly fundraising to cover bus fees so kids could come to our otherwise free education programs on field trips—and nobody ever seemed aware this was a barrier, you had to prove it to them before you could put an ask in front of them a lot of the time

This is why I said "No, I'm on the phone right now, you can save me the trouble of writing an email" when I called them.

I even warned the manager I spoke to "expect more calls today, I'm not the only one who's mad."

If they want to be sent emails, you should call them. You can send an email too but they will ask you to do a thing that's less annoying for them. Do the thing that annoys them more.

That said, if you’re able to donate or share our fundraising efforts, it would mean a lot to us as we navigate this transition and search for work gigs to stay afloat.
