On this day in 1910, Edith Green was born. She introduced the Equal Pay Act in 1955 & fought for 8 years to make it law. The 1963 statute prohibits sex discrimination in wages for the same job in the same workplace. Some of Green’s male colleagues called her the “Wicked Witch of the West.” #WeTheMen

Delightful. In "Jack Sprat," the children dance as Miss Natalie sings, accompanied by members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Just marvelous.

In other videos, the children act out the words of the rhymes. Great fun for children. Beautifully done

PSA: You don’t owe anyone an explanation about the health reasons why you are wearing a mask.

Badgering others about the tools they need to survive is stigmatizing and ableist, and should have no place in decent society.

Here in Atlanta yesterday, more than 2,000 people waited in their cars—one woman for 14 hours—for a box of food. The giveaway ended early; there wasn't enough to go around.

Multiply this scene by countless others across the country, and you get a sense of how crushing the desperation is right now.
