During Covid lockdown, if you had family round on Christmas Day the police could force their way into your home and make them return to their own homes.
Does anybody know if this service is still available and, if so, do you have to book it?

Beautiful evening light but still sad to see all this felling in Bedford Purlieus just now. This woodland's probably the jewel of the #RockinghamForest crown - read more about it here

Lots more about this amazing woodland by Carolyn Church here - a full year's diary describing working and living in the wood. Well worth a read!

Last week I visited a wonderful independently owned coppice woodland. Third photo shows their award-winning 'dead-hedging' that keeps the deer off the young hazel growth, but naturally degrades just as the hazel is old enough to withstand the nibbling! Very clever stuff!

Good morning! Our petition petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70... has just passed 10,000 signatures so Defra must respond. Thank you to 9,999 others who have signed it!

But we shouldn't stop there - please share and promote so that we reach 100,000 signatures and get a parliamentary debate.

We're planning more free guided walks in #RockinghamForest for 2025.
Where shall we go next year? Back to the same areas or somewhere new? Any ideas? Or any offers to lead walks in little-known parts of the forest especially welcome! Please get in touch www.rockinghamforest.org.uk/contacts

The demise of Twitter is so very sad. Many of us had many years of community, networking and fun. Then came Müskification.

But, after a slow start. Bluesky has suddenly taken off! 🚀 Now with 16m users and many old friends and familiar faces now here, we’ve found our new home. And I’m loving it!
