I'm white(Irish),
working class, sociaist. I see the flags on lampposts and I feel anger and dismay. Everyone in my social group is ashamed by them. We/you know that the people putting them up have malign intent. Conflating the issue with Trans rights is abhorrent BTW.

This is just nonsense. Even Sam Altman doesn't believe this. There is no path for LLM's to 'wipe out' jobs, it is far too unreliable and can't be made better. Software engineering was supposed to be the cutting edge, and it's not breaking through there either.

The same freedom, to walk away from poor employers without risking your financial/mental health, should be given to everyone through a true UBI.

Somewhat missing in the whole sugary drinks refill, by one get one free, ban is that it is purely aimed at the poorest. Yeah, they may be unhealthy, but not eating is a lot more unhealthy. For some people bogof is the most affordable way to eat. Those with money will just buy it anyway.
