It should be very very clear to everyone right now that the Attorney General was asked under oath if she possesses pics of the President with undressed teens and she refused to say “no.”

That too, really enjoyed the guardian article today where CBS staff were like "the barf emoji isn't strong enough"
bartenderhemry.bsky.social
I think the failing washington post is illustrative: people don't just get brainwashed or hoodwinked by this shit, they cancel their subscriptions and stop engaging with it. This is still much worse than having actually good media but it's not the nightmare scenario, it's not actually persuasive
bartenderhemry.bsky.social
Contrarian point: it's really bad but at the same time US political media is already so in the tank for trump that I don't know how much this moves the needle. If anything weiss is so incompetent and unqualified that maybe it ends up just discrediting mainstream coverage that's already not adequate

The CBS takeover by Larry Ellison and Bari Weiss is the most foreboding move in a while, and I’m not saying that lightly.

It will have an effect on the 2026 elections: CBS will now lie to people and normies will believe it.

There's a real "nothing bad can happen, it can only good happen" problem with russ vought trying to illegally withhold back pay for furloughed workers because even if he gets slapped down in court he's no worse off. There's never any penalty for breaking the law so they just keep doing it

C.I.A. Deputy Director Has Replaced Agency’s Top Legal Official With Himself

It is not clear what is behind the move by Michael Ellis, a Trump loyalist. A legal ethics specialist said it could raise conflict-of-interest issues.

Needs to be a day in the future where instead of making a mockery of congress with these petulant outbursts these fascist clowns are tearfully claiming they were just following orders

BONDI: The National Guard is on the way right now as we speak. You're sitting here grilling me and they're on their way to Chicago to keep your state safe.

DURBIN: It's my job to grill you

The people dunking on this like "former republicans haven't opposed trump, what are you talking about!!" are the same people who were like "ugh such a disaster that liz cheney endorsed kamala harris"
whstancil.bsky.social
One reason former Republicans have been better at opposing Trump than many progressives is because they correctly understand that the GOP’s descent into fascism represents a dramatic shift, and is therefore scarier, where the latter groups feel the need to argue it’s just a continuation of trend

its funny how not a single actual journalist has been like, “actually she’s good at journalism”

Rule of threes immediately followed by an unnecessary "for example" man I hate this shit so much. How hard is it to just write a paragraph about how the trees are real? WHY

Yes, very difficult to remember the extremely common name of "Ghislaine Maxwell," a person you might only from their association with one of the most famous criminals in history, who was also your best friend. I could see how you'd need a little refresher.

Trump on pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell: Haven't heard the name in so long. I’ll take a look at it. I’ll speak to the DOJ. A lot of people have asked me for pardons.

Reporter: But she’s convicted of sex trafficking

Trump: I’ll have to take a look at it.

Gonna wake up one day and every bit of writing everywhere is gonna be this garbage and everyone will be like "what's the problem, i think it's good" and then I'll retire to a dope lighthouse with a whip

Incredible that they used ai to write about how it's not ai

It's not fun that under every picture or video of a cool thing the org has to assert that it's real and not AI.
In the Hampton Lumber forest between Grand Ronde and Willamina, Oregon, this incredible orange smiley face appears every fall. It was designed and planted back in 2011 by David Hampton (co-owner of Hampton Lumber) and timberland manager Dennis Creel.
The eyes and mouth are made of evergreen Douglas fir trees, while the vibrant yellow comes from larch trees whose needles turn golden and drop in autumn, revealing this happy design in the middle of the forest.
David Hampton planted these larch trees amid the Douglas firs to create a smiley face that returns each fall and makes a happy showing. From the love our parks Facebook page.

To clarify for any skeptics: the Hampton Lumber Smiley Face is absolutely a real thing. It's a massive, 300-foot-wide smiley face created on a hillside in Polk County, Oregon, visible along Highway 18 between Willamina and Grand Ronde. In 2011, during reforestation after logging, Hampton Lumber planted a strategic mix of Douglas fir trees (which stay green year-round) and larch trees (which turn golden-yellow in the fall). This creates the seasonal contrast that forms the smiley face, appearing every autumn for about 30-50 years until the trees mature and are harvested. It's not Photoshop or AI-generated—it's a clever, intentional planting design that's been documented and enjoyed by locals and travelers for over a decade.

The photos on the post have been greatly enlarged and the colors saturated to improve the visibility of this for the photos in the post. That's it. It's not AI and it's not created out of thin air. But the underlying pattern is genuine and verifiable—people drive by it, drone it, and post about it annually. For example, it's especially prominent in October when the larches peak in color. No hoax, just smart forestry with a fun twist.

Try Googling "Hampton Lumber Smiley Face".

Calm Down and Carry On :-)

It'd be nice also if the supreme court actually disagreed with him

Hard to listen to his weird little valley girl cadence here but this is just him doing his favorite routine, the idea that because Trump won the election he's entitled to do whatever he wants, and anyone who suggests there are limits to presidential power is anti-democratic. It's very fascist though

Stephen Miller: "Eventually elections don’t carry the day because violence beats votes… When we see a muscular response from the federal government, it’s because we’re not going to let violence beat votes."

Is he implying federal intervention determines political legitimacy, not ballots or courts?
