Very thoughtful study and important results to show how cost-sharing of drugs directly affect mortality… and why, if and when, we get the price of drugs right, there shouldn’t be any need of cost sharing..

HHS spent $33B is funding (98%NIH) in 2023. With current average indirect rate of 30%, seems like a $4B funding shock coming to universities in the US!

I return, I hope total NIH budget is raised by at least that much & certain F&A items allowed to be budgeted under direct costs with justification!

And don’t be fooled by the fact the NH industry runs on a thin profit margin. Ashvin Gandhi and Andrew Olenski’s excellent work shows how NH industry tunnels nearly 70% of its profits and keeps them hidden!!
