I've been radio silent because I'm in the process of standing up an app.bsky.* API server (aka app-view aka Barnes & Nobles). This is an expensive and time intensive operation that I didn't want to do until it was necessary.

People still dont understand the effects of Trump’s new bill on education and how it impacts student loans.

Once 2028 gets here, there wont be anymore poor children who become doctors or lawyers. Poor kids wont be able to become epidemiologists like me.

That new cap ensures ONLY rich kids will.

There's also no way to moderate at the scale of social media without machine learning. No site except maybe meta could afford an army of even low wage humans to review the volume of content created by bored humans.

People once again need to internalize that "generative AI" is a small subset of machine learning, that machine learning is a critical tool that you cannot run a site without past a certain volume Bluesky has long since exceeded, and that it is FAR more reliable than user reporting.
