Certainly we mourn the dead, but as Christians we also look to the resurrection. So as a pastor I get both to carry the grief and the hope present in the moment.

In contrast, dogmatics begins with revelation in God’s free self-disclosure in Christ rather than in an inerrant text or a natural-theology account of divine attributes. The Bible is a genuine creaturely witness that God uses, not a static deposit of propositions available to any neutral observer.

But it would be a big enough donation it could actually be deducted from taxes!
