"a trifecta can pass one, maybe two, narrow money bills but can't actually pass normal legislation" is a truly insane system of government, but the one we live in b/c there are not 50 senators who are actually interested in governing because that would mean giving up the immense privilege they enjoy

A big part of this last two weeks has been getting in contact with, verifying, and interviewing/talking to hundreds of government employees across the entire govt. These people talk to us at great personal risk and in crazy circumstances where they are actively being threatened and pressured to quit
