Grumpy and beardy, made in the RN. Prefers dogs to people. Dislikes fascists. RTs not an endorsement, sometimes its merely because it amused me.

Tories will abolish stamp duty to “revive the housing market”

First time buyers don’t pay it anyway (up to £300k) & the fact the average UK house price is 10x the average salary is the problem, not £5k stamp duty on a £300k house! And then there’s the £24bn lost tax revenue…

Totally deluded 🤦‍♀️

A house in Clacton bought with unknown finances, a Russian funded Welsh leader and now an investigation into the finances and tax affairs of one of Farage’s key ally.

The treachery and corruption is right in front of the media’s eyes and they do and say, NOTHING!

Tories taking money from the Russians, Labour taking money from Israel. What happened to meat raffles, white elephant stalls, and the odd bad band to raise a few quid.

Don't forget that 41 Tory MPs in the last government took Russian donations. That might account for media reticence to report on the Nathan Gill case.

Can you imagine if he'd gone deep into the Cotswolds, and said I dont see any brown or black faces. What a failure of integration

I know this is uncomfortable to admit, but there is a small area in England's second city where people are just not integrated with the rest of society. Many of them hold views that arguably go against British values.

Yes, we need to talk about the Tory conference in Manchester.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

Am wondering if all of those suddenly deciding they’re against communities living “parallel lives” might reconsider their support of religious schools? Or indeed private ones?

Yup. Usually with fewer rights and less job security, possibly overseas. Money that may otherwise have gone towards in-house employees instead end up in some faceless shareholder's offshore bank account.

POLITICS COMMENTATOR, 10 AM: Looking at electoral polls this far out from a general election is a complete waste of everyone's time.

POLITICS COMMENTATOR, 2 PM: Bloody hell, look at this new poll, it's mad.

The environmental horrors aside, what's most frightening about when the AI bubble collapses (not if, when) is we're past the point where we can even afford to bail it out. nVidia was 25% of all market growth in the last year. One company. There isn't enough real money to fix this anymore

AMD gave OpenAI 10% of its stock for free in exchange for OpenAI announcing they'll buy AMD chips for ten years using the money made from the value of the stock, which then went up 30% in a day. They created $80 billion on paper doing nothing. This is definitely not going to collapse spectacularly

Since 1980, the ECHR has heard just 29 UK immigrant deportation case, and the UK won 16 of them. Quitting will make no material difference to immigration, just weaken protections for absolutely everybody in this country. But Farage and the Tories know that.
