Back when I worked in policy you used to get these people. They’d insist that politics is about big ideas and we shouldn’t get bogged down in detailed implementation. Then one of those boring details that was beneath their notice would blow up, and guess who had to step in to fix things?

Just saying, if she’s correct then there’s zero rationale for a two year waiting period. Because gender recognition cannot be an important or weighty matter that requires a period of reflection if it doesn’t actually affect how you live your day to day life.
