I watched The Starling tonight because I love everyone in it. I continued to watch it because apparently I derive pleasure from pain? That one really does not hold back the punches. Everything awful happens in that movie. There are truly not enough trigger warnings in the world.

Another thing I have learned about my parents from house/dogsitting is that either they must largely be no waste or they must take the trash out every day, because not a single trash can in this house is bigger than a shoebox.

Saw The Menu with a bunch of lovely chefs who had had similar experiences to the movie. I don't do horror, so their cynicism made it much easier to watch. After, I was the only one at lunch who ordered the gloriously greasy themed burger because I am not in the habit of trying to out-order anyone.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?
Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

I could lick the song “Glow” from Kelly Clarkson and Chris Stapleton like it were a Christmas tree perched on top of a sugar cone. I don’t know how that didn’t get TONS of radio play. It’s so good and fun and basically audio ice cream.

Reduced 3/4s of a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau into a cherry cranberry cobbler. *stares tipsily and pink-cheeked into the camera* I drank the first bit. It’s baking away in the oven as we speak. It’s one way to assure I finish a bottle I open.
