Stephen Colbert should take his show to @pbs.org It would give him a great platform & solve PBS’ financial issues. And of course it would undermine & piss off the MAGAs who voted to defund public media. Double win!

YIKES.

“Throughout history, tyranny has been limited by human frailty. Dictators tire. … They must sleep. …

“AI fundamentally changes this equation. … [W]e face the prospect of systems of control that never sleep, … and … can … identify patterns of resistance before they even fully form.”
The age of human tyranny was cruel—but flawed. AI tyranny will be perfect. It will know you better than you know yourself. It will shape your reality before you resist. And if we lose democracy now, we may never get another chance to win it back

A new era of government censorship has begun.
It started with the silencing of scientific speech, when the admin blocked release of research on bird flu. But MAGA has also cracked down on other wrongthink—on race, geography (!), and of course Trump himself

It’s quite possible. We shall see.
A rich and karmically gratifying outcome of this circus would be if Trump took Elon-worship as such a grave narcissistic injury that he dumped Elon—and Elon, in turn, started using X as a platform to savage Trump. Unlikely, but not out of the question, given Elon has near-identical pathologies.
