I need someone who knows more about Weber than me (so, pretty much anyone) to write about this.
The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

“Or lower profit margins” hahahaha like it would be that one
An analysis by the JPMorganChase Institute finds that a critical group of U.S. employers would face a direct cost of $82.3 billion from Trump’s current tariff plans, a sum that could be potentially managed through price hikes, layoffs, hiring freezes or lower profit margins.

In 10th grade Latin class I was reading out loud and accidentally said the “Anals of Volusius” and I still think about it at least 427 times a year. (This dude has way more to be embarrassed about and yet won’t ever feel shame for any of it.)

Nashville, so.
I love how certain cities hold their most iconic musicians as patron saints and part of the city's identity. Minneapolis has Prince. We in Austin Have Willy. New Orleans has Dr. John.

Genuinely curious: Who is your city's musical patron saint?

In the absence of adequate staff, the lion's share of the administrative burden of helping the elderly navigate SSA will fall on adult daughters, DILs, and female friends.

The war on the elderly, the war on lower income Americans, and the war on women are the same war.

So it appears DOGE has decreed that Social Security administration will no longer provide phone support. At all. This is in addition to shutting down a ton of local SSA offices. www.axios.com/2025/03/17/s...

“Those we serve” is really telling here.
NEW — OMB temporarily pauses all agency grants and loans programs.

Per copy of memo: "The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve."

So, at some point, like now, when a President does blatantly illegal things intended to dismantle the govt and terrorize ppl, as we knew he would, the opposition party has a moral obligation not to comply.

If the Democrats don’t get off their collective asses and do something, they’re done.

Article I says Congress makes laws and has power of the purse.

Article II requires POTUS to faithfully execute laws.

Refusing to execute laws so he can usurp Congress’s budgetary authority is unconstitutional.

A self-respecting Congress would do a veto-proof resolution, and if necessary, impeach.
