I've been working on an essay about The Struggles of TTRPG Outreach and Fandom but I think this tumblr post just captured the whole sentiment im like 100 words.

Fact: Apart from pure recognition factor, one of the major reasons your fanart gets more eyes on it than your OCd is because people are perverts for narrative context, and your OCs don't have any.

Corollary: you don't actually need to write a whole-ass graphic novel to achieve that narrative context. You do need to know what your OC's story is, but once you do, you can literally just draw contextless snapshots from that story that raise more questions than they answer and people will fill in the blanks.

also, for anyone who HASN'T read the TOS of a bunch of subscription sites recently, did you know how crazy patreon's is?

i don't know. it's been on my mind since i started doing the kinktober art. i enjoy all of what i've made, but i have definitely redirected or cut a few that i was like, "well, this one's probably too much." and i can't even be like "get the XXX pervert pdf with unposted bits" cuz i can't host it!

having a bit of a downer day. not to add to the doom or anything. but it’s pretty crushing to outline a comic you think is pretty hot & exciting and realize by the time you finish it, you will have to not properly tag its contents or have nowhere to post it
