Not sure how I discovered Rivers of Nihil, but I only got into Where Owls Know My Name for a while. Then they released Instrumental versions of that album and The Work. Through that I discovered The Void from Which No Sound Escapes. Progressive Death Metal + Saxophone + Occasional Synths. Win.

I’ll continue to be an advocate for solar. I got my roof replaced and solar installed for a combined financing cost of what electric in MA is now. So short term it’s a wash / slightly more expensive to do what I did, but I’m insulated from all National Grid rate increases for 25+ years. 1/2

One particularly useful but hardly mentioned tool from #openai is #whisper. Anyone, without an openai account, can use it to generate a subtitle file for a video. I’m using a python script to crawl my media in a locally-hosted #plex server to generate subtitles, which plex automatically picks up
