A Super Mario Kart clone for the Amiga that, because I didn't own Super Mario Kart, I spent a LOT of time with. Is it good? No idea, I've never gone back to check.

Bought this on the GameCube, almost exclusively because it has Link in it, and found it to be an absolute blast. I never got good at it, but I had a lot of fun playing it with friends. Fired it up in the Switch 2 recently and I suuuuuuck now.

I remember when this was first announced, asking myself, "Do we really need yet another Tetris game?"
And then I played it. Wow. What an experience. This has become my go-to game to relax, unwind, or de-stress with. Just incredible.

I first played this on the CD32, of all places. It may not look like it, but this is a survival horror game. (No, I won't die on that hill, but I'll let myself get very sick on it.)

Worms spin-offs have always been a mixed bag, but this one takes Puzzle Bobble and injects a little more chaos into it.
I owned this game for every system it came out for, even the GBA (where the BLAST mechanic was broken so it actually didn't work!). Such a fun game.

This is the game that revived Resident Evil for me. Enough that I did eventually go back and try Resi 7 (which, hey, I'm a big scaredy cat! I can't go into that house!). Felt wonderful revisiting the story and world of this game. Claire's story is still the best.

Despite the fact that I reached a point where I could not find any lrgit way to reach my next objective and so could not finish the game, this nevertheless remains one of my favorite single player experiences of the last decade.

One of the most imaginative approaches to multiplayer Tetris I've ever played. Has Mario Kart style powerups that do anything from change the shape of the bricks, drop a little slime that eats tiles, removes the barrier between wells entirely! I love this game so, so much.

In fairness, I don't know a single other person who ever even owned this console, let alone this game.

Worst of all, they don't appear to make it anymore. If anyone has a lead on a replacement...

Pretty sure I only ever had the demo, which I played over and over again despite having little to no understanding of what the actual factual fuck I was supposed to do. When I think of the main BTTF theme, the version from this game is the one I hear in my head.

There are other endless runners that are probably better designed, but few with better atmosphere. Canabalt shows you a world you desperately want to know more about, then says "No time for that, run! Jump!" My favorite example of the genre, and one I keep coming back to.

Famously given dozens of 90%+ reviews by magazines of the day despite being absolute shash.
One day our dad came home with a CD32 and a stack of games. This was one of them. I desperately wanted this game to play as good as I thought it looked. It didn't. Wretched.

One of the most charming games I've ever played. There have been a couple of sequels like Yoshi's Story and Yoshi's Island DS that didn't quite capture the same charm, but you can't beat the original.

My friends all had this for the SNES. I had the Amiga version, which was... clunky, to say the least. Different enough from the SNES version that my friend Adam tried to convince me it was a bootleg. The Amiga never had much luck with Street Fighter ports.

Finishing this game was an experience I will never be able to recreate, no matter how many times I replay it. I just remember being blown away that games could be this cinematic. Did a lot of stuff in 1991 that we take for granted in games today.

An unfinished Doctor Who fan game made in Adventure Game Studios - a Fourth Doctor adventure set in Nazi Germany that does a decent job of capturing the LucasArts aesthetic of games like Fate of Atlantis and Monkey Island 2. Ends on a cliffhanger!

One of the few Telltale Games releases I finished. Just an absolute joy from start to finish. Captures that Sam & Max sensibility perfectly, and the remaster gives it that little extra polish.

This game (and TimeSplitters 2, for obvious reasons) basically dominated my GameCube in the 00s. If we had friends over, we were playing Monkey Ball at some point. It was unavoidable.
