I'm looking into starting the process of considering maybe, in the future, at some point, buying a car. I'm what's known in some circles as "a mark" and would gladly agree to whatever terms. I also find it funny the amount of people who pay cash for cars. Like, I don't have 30k lying around.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you have friends struggling through the shutdown, consider inviting them over for a family dinner this week. Make too much. Insist they take leftovers home. Some folks can't say they need help out loud but will appreciate the kindness.
