Blankenburg played HS Hockey for Romeo and helped the Bulldogs capture its first state title in program history in 2016 at the Division 2 level.

Nick was fun to cover back in those days as I'm sure he's still a good interview now.
That was three goals in 59 seconds early in the third. The Preds tied the game at 2:05 on a goal by Macomb County's Nick Blankenburg, then took the lead at 2:20 on Roman Josi's goal.

Ben Chiarot then re-tied the game at 3:04. All three goals by defensemen.

Guess he finally feels healthy enough to play…though if that was the goal, why come out of retirement?

Either way, major win for Detroit
NEWS: The Detroit Lions announced that former All-Pro center Frank Ragnow is coming out of retirement to join the team.

Yeah. Maybe let's not have Bruce Pearl on the broadcast of his and now his son's team.

I don't need to hear excuses for why Auburn got boat raced tonight....or ever.

The set up of this Players Era...tournament? If that's even the best way to describe it...is wild.

We seriously live in the absolute dumbest timeline imaginable
Breaking News: The CDC quietly appointed Dr. Ralph Lee Abraham, who has been critical of vaccines, as its second in command. During the Covid pandemic, he promoted discredited treatments like ivermectin and, as Louisiana’s surgeon general, halted the state’s mass vaccination campaign.

Any Group 5 school would love a kid like Bryson Kuzdzal.

Michigan found an absolute gem of a walk-on.

Probably write something more on this for tomorrow at Shapshots.hockey but looking at where goals are going in on John Gibson vs. Cam Talbot this season, there's a pretty interesting trend on shots along the ice

Also…maybe…the Lions lost because of bad decisions to go for it on fourth down.

I’m not going to get mad about a bad DPI call when Dan Campbell refused to trust his defense and not take points, and lay field position.

Dan owns and wears this loss.

Still the same racist BS about Dearborn every single election cycle…

Stop giving these idiots the time of day.

Submitted my vote for Tigers ROTY for the Detroit Sports Media Association. Gave my vote to Troy Melton.

I now will accept your insults, garbage, and empty beer cans to be thrown in my direction. As well as any verbal slings of arrows you may have as well.

Kind of surprised that a suicide squeeze wasn’t an option. But either way, in credible World Series.

Thoroughly entertaining

Ryan Day like to talk about toughness, but OSU isn't a tough football team.

Penn State just sticking to the formula. Giving OSU all it can handle without its starting QB. They have a shot to win this game.
Penn State just needs to run the ball effectively to beat OSU. Tire out the trenches, and make the game a battle of wills.

That's all Michigan has done the last four years. Seemed to work out ok.

Since 2007, Detroit has only gotten off to a seven (7) win start in 10 games three (3) times. Two of those times, it went to the Cup Final, winning one and losing the other. The third time was a playoff team that lost in the Conf Semis.

Detroit added the fourth w/ its win over St Louis Tonight.

The Wings just playing perfect hockey tonight. Granted St Louis is exhausted, but Detroit is capitalizing off every mistake possible.

4-1 Detroit with 7:04 left in the 2nd.

Just read that Carter Mazur sustained a lower-body injury during practice and is being evaluated.

Poor kid can't stay healthy for the life of him. Since he's in the last year of his contract, you could give him an injury settlement. But man, just a handful of bad luck.
