STARTER PACK: I covered many WBB Final Fours for Sports Illustrated which got me into women's basketball.

I remain an avid watcher of the product.

If interested: I put together a list of Women's Basketball Media on Bluesky (68 people and counting) and I'll keep adding.

“It’s the arrogance of it all."

Bill Belichick pledged an NFL approach at North Carolina. It has proven to be a complete disaster. Here's @theathletic.com’s story on why UNC football has turned into such a dumpster fire:

More than an hour after it happened, Orion Kerkering went back to the dugout. He was alone. Then, someone put his arm around him. The Phillies shared a collective pain because it felt like more than a season had just ended. Story: www.nytimes.com/athletic/670...

Inside the clubhouse, there was shock, anger, concern for the young reliever — and a sense that something more than a season had ended.

Unlike most sports writers, I'm neither a Bruce lover or hater. I appreciate his career and respect his truth. I respect Dylan for being counter-culture for his time. But Cash worked in a lot of very conservative audience circles and always came off bad ass. Tough to do and the definition of cool.

Compared to Ohtani and McDavid, the basketball legend can seem deeply lackadaisical. It took years for me to appreciate his fascist, maniacal devotion to competitiveness.

"Compared to Dylan and Springsteen, the country-music legend can seem deeply uncool."

This subhead is legit insane.

It's also very revealing but it offers some very weird East Coast big city version of comparing cool.

It's finally time to give Michael Jordan his due.

Ah yes, famously uncool singer Johnny Cash. I am glad noted arbiter of cool the Wall Street Journal is willing to reconsider his case.

These are always a estimate or sampling of a representative population. No possible way to accurately reflect those with alternate means of viewership.

Nearly 1/10 of the entire country (average is the standard metric in television).

Just an incredible viewership number in Canada.

Yankees vs. Blue Jays ALDS averaged 3.7M viewers on Sportsnet, with 11.5M Canadians tuning in at some point throughout the series💥

An average of 3.8M Canadians watched Game 4 last night, plus an average of 2.9M stayed tuned to watch the champagne pops in post-game! 🍾

My Olympic on-site time is over. I covered seven. I was blessed there more than I deserved. Time for others to be onsite.

I spent most of my life in NYC before moving to Canada. So much fandom in the States is city or area-specific. Understandbly so.

It’s why the Blue Jays are so unique for me. A pro team where the fan base is literally an entire country.

Just a fucking cool thing.

I have never enjoyed an MLB team more than this year’s Toronto Blue Jays team. At a time where domestic and world news hammers you down daily, they have provided me and my family with endless optimism and spirit. It doesn’t matter in the big picture but then again, it’s also everything.

Obviously, very low on the scale of importance here but for this interested.

Mark Schlereth will be filling in for Mark Sanchez this week on FOX's coverage of Seahawks-Jaguars.
