OK, the shoes are cute tho.

It’s not a particularly interesting outfit - I only have to walk across the parking lot the hotel and restaurant share, but it’s 19f out there so it’s practical. But that’s not the point. The point is that they’ll know these are _my_ clothes, my women’s clothes, and they’re excited for me.

Fair! And I’ve got all of the books in boxes somewhere anyway.

Even though they’re not profiting off the books any more, I just can’t be comfortable handing their books to someone.

For my voracious reader 13 year old nephew’s Christmas present, my mom said “what about the books you were reading at his age?” I thought of how devoted I was to THE BELGARIAD at the time, paused a sec, and bought him five Discworld books.

In my head canon, he’s their cool older friend - he already had a life before they came along, but he still liked to spend time with them. I legitimately thought about this a lot as a kid watching the Muppet Show and Sesame Street at the same time.

Same! I was one of the weirdo Twitter Elders who never engaged with the algorithm, but it still degraded hard in the last couple years before Elon, so I really appreciate my cozy nest here.

Inspired by this thread, I dug up our old DVD and player at mom's out, and now Mom, my youngest sibling and I are watching it!

I think it hits me so hard because it’s the most Muppet Show of any of the post-Muppet Show Muppet stuff. It’s got such a strong variety show feel. Also, yes, my lord and savior Jim Henson’s cameo wrecks me.

Muppet Family Christmas may be my second favorite Muppets thing after Great Muppet Caper, and that’s saying something. The icy patch lives in my head.
