My students already all work * (generally 30-40 hrs a week) to afford school and - in many cases - to help support their families.
* this past year, their jobs included farming, pharmacy tech, EMT, project manager, graphic designer, barista, corrections officer, special ed tutor, sous chef, etc.

Same. I'm a professor, and I realized that in 2021, I'd read NO books except ones related to my courses.
I intentionally fought against that in 2022 and eventually crawled back to my usual "one book every 2 or 3 days," but it's so easy to backslide when I could just watch 30 sec videos instead. :(
