I poured a lot of guts and angst into this. I wanted to write different SF, about being alive, afraid, and looking for something to fill the hole that lives in all of us.

And look, you get another novella with it! Find out where to buy:
wizardstowerpress.com/books-2/nove...

#bookQuote
Graphic, text reads: "The unwise decisions two sisters make will affect the entire world. Bring Me Home, a science fiction novella by E.M. Faulds. Find it in Wiz Duos book 2. Go to wizardstowerpress.com" background graphic shows a silhoutte of a female figure with a circular hole cut out showing another smaller female figure beneath. Bottom right hand corner is a thumbnail of the Wiz Duos book 2 cover. Graphic. Excerpt over graphics, text reads: '“Dave, I need you to tell Jayce that I didn’t kick him, I only touched him and then the sun hit my hand and mod sent out some kind of… I don’t know what, but it wasn’t me, I didn’t do it.”
“Yeah, right, so your body tunnel gave you superpowers? Congrats, I’m sure you’ll do well.”
“Don’t be stupid, come on, I’m trying to explain.”
“If I’m so stupid, why do you need me? Can’t you all just hang out and compare mods and leave me out of it?”
“You never got one,” I said out loud, stupidly.
“Oh, you noticed, well done.”
“I mean, why not?”
He rounded on me, nearly spitting in my face. “Because I’m not stupid! You got that elagite stuff. It’s like metal DNA and nobody knows what it does to you.”' Beneath that, the titling info reads: "Bring Me Home, by E.M. Faulds. Available now as part of Wiz Duos 2, from Wizard's Tower Press". Behind is a darkened image showing a two female figures, one larger with a circular hole in its centre, one smaller standing with head visible through hole. Bottom right is a thumbnail of the Wiz Duos book 2 cover.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

No exceptions. If you use Gen A I in any capacity whatsoever, you suck.

Yes, the way you're using it too. You're not special.

"She probably doesn't mean me"

I do.

I've seen some vocally anti-AI people recently make an anti-AI post and be surprised there are still pro-AI people following them, and I can explain this;

most pro-AI people think they are somehow the exception. the way THEY are using it, SURELY you would take no issue!

well, we do. so fuck off.

I was trying to photograph Groove-billed Anis this morning, but I was photobombed by his scofflaw.

🐦SWEETS TO MAKE THE WAGTAILS SING🎶

As the famous saying goes, "hana yori dango" (花より団子), "dumplings more than flowers" (substance over style)...but why not combine them?

Flower-inspired sweets dazzle in early autumn, shortly before the swallows depart.

'Fuyo', a pink hibiscus inspired sweet. 'Suimen-no-tsuki', a pale yellow sweet inspired by moonlight reflected on water. Sonyo-in's spectacularly colourful ceiling, filled with images of butterflies. A red and blue jellied sweet inspired by artist Kitawaki Noboru's (北脇昇 1901-1951) painting the 'greater henbit' (ホトケノザ).

Very happy to have been awarded Creative Scotland funding to expand a dark SF project (similar vibes to Limelight)! A multi-POV tale of lives intersecting in a dystopian city run by a nefarious corporation (think Gotham meets Panem) with dark health tech, a heist, and an assassination plot...✨👁️

What’s the verdict, should I sell prints at World fantasy Convention this year?

I'm petrified of launching this thing alone so please come along and eat my cakes

There may also be special guest

I saw one doing wheelies like this. I wonder if it is a feeding strategy or a disease that makes them do it. Or, like, the dancing plague.

In Cumbrian dialects, 'broc' is badger

Badger is held in high esteem and 'brocan' means wise man. In lore, badgers protect against witchcraft and other evils

Oh damn no you don't get to see me when I was a kid, or ten or twenty years ago... Unless you're my friend and I've showed you it.
Cos I'm not here to train some damned AI ageing algorithm.

Oh this is so nice! Thank you Oli!
The book's currently out of print but if you're going to World Fantasy and you'd like a copy, I'm bringing a few along. Just let me know!
And yeah, I have to hurry up and get that out somewhere again.

I absolutely loved 'Under The Moon', a short, beautifully written SFFH story collection by E.M. Faulds. Small in size, enormous (sublunary) in scope, and frequently moving.

That's okay, it's really not common knowledge unless you process right to work checks (like I do). Like 2 factor authentication, a share code + passport is actually a bit more secure than a single digital ID.

Depends. If it was something you saw along the way and thought "this person would like that" I guess no? But full Christmas mission shop? Perhaps! Idk how you can contain it, I'd want to give them out so badly.

COVER REVEAL! 🎉

After what feels like a lifetime, I finally get to show you what I've been working on the last few years! The long-awaited sequel, VAMPIRES IN PARK CIRCUS!

Coming Halloween 2025!

You can pre-order here! lukebelcourt.com/witches/two....
A photograph of the cover for Vampires in Park Circus. It is drawn in the same style as the 2025 Witches cover -- fine black lineart, but the colour scheme is red rather than teal.
A woman with long flowing black hair in a Kate Bush-esque gown runs towards the viewer. She looks behind her, afraid. Park Church Tower, a notable landmark in the centre of Park Circus, looms behind her. The same golden magic from the first book explodes from her head like psychic power.
The photograph is taken in a park, with tree cover behind it. The epigraph to the book:

"A vampire moves to Scotland and makes friends with a local human at a bar.
'It's hard, not being able to go out in direct sunlight,' the vampire says.
'How long has it been since you've seen the sun?' the local asks.
'Since I died, nine years ago,' the vampire says. 'You?'
The local finishes his drink. 'Fifteen long years. I remember it like it was yesterday.'
