If I had to diagnose the cause of the "Bluesky malaise" as @kleinman.bsky.social calls it, I would describe it as a lot of people without the skills or resources or interest in journalism or activism mistakenly believing that being performatively miserable all the time will net the same results.

Also, to be clear, I specify age range not just for understanding/accuracy, but cus too many people think of creative mediums/jobs as a "young person's gig" and it's important that folks realize they can get into this at any age! 🥰 You had a whole other well established career and pivoted.

When sharing images, there's a little badge you can click to assign an Adult label to them so that folks can choose whether or not they're comfortable viewing it. That way you don't have to put a buncha dots etc.

Bluesky doesn't have an algorithm where you'll be punished for using the label either.

Thank you :) I did end up googling and found several suggestions, and not only has it not done this since, but it's also running much smoother when it is on! Poor thing was neglected haha.
