We are an independent museum in Bexhill, East Sussex. Our collections include natural history, clothing and transport. Our opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 11-4.

This bath chair is one of the older forms of transport in our collection.

The bath chair is made of wicker and has two large wheels at the back with thin tyres and one small wheel at the front. There is a steering handle that projects up from the front to where the occupant of the chair can use it. The part for them to steer is wooden.

We are now closed until Boxing Day. From then we are open until the 1st of January. Then we close for a bit of a wash and a brush up before reopening for our new season on Tuesday 27th January.

Christmas and New Year opening times. Monday 22nd Dec to Christmas Day we are closed. Then we are open from Boxing Day to Thursday 1st January. Then we are closed until we reopen for the new season on Tuesday 27th January.

We are running a Christmas quiz for children. It is included in the cost of admission and they can collect a free sticker and a small gift. We are open today, tomorrow and Sunday and then closed until Boxing Day. #Bexhill #Christmas

The poster is of a vintage railway poster for the town of Bexhill-on-Sea. It shows the De La Warr Pavilion, a long low slung white building in an art deco modernist style. Don’t miss our festive musical night on Thur 18th at 7pm. Our historical piano will be played by Mike Hatchard, in our Sargent Gallery. Festive favourites will feature along with works by Chopin and Gershwin. Mulled wine and light refreshment included in £10 ticket price. #Bexhill #Christmas
