A lot of people feeling resentful today about snow emergency scofflaws. But you need to remember that never moving your car is the most environmentally friendly way to own a car.

Wedge LIVE Float Fest is also sponsored by Eric's stolen 2006 Chevy Suburban. It's blue but also looks kinda green in the sunlight. Have you seen Eric's Suburban? Let him know. @ehbinmn.bsky.social

@olsenforparks.bsky.social I love your energy for Open Parkways. For anyone on the fence about benefits, go check out Cedar Lake Parkway right now- it is so calm and pleasant because of the closure at Burnham Road (which acts like a traffic diverter). Neighbors noted how amazing and quiet it is.

The design seems to assume that it's no big deal for a bicyclist's route to be significantly longer, even though biking takes physical effort, so as to avoid inconveniencing cars, where the driver is just sitting there. What are we doing, people?

There’s a dance party on a newly opened Bryn Mawr bike bridge tomorrow afternoon (Friday) at 5:30pm! It probably won’t be as well-DJ’d as @wedge.live emergency rides with @deveric.net, but rumor has it we will have a mid-party pizza delivery so there’s that.

Instead, poor behavior is rewarded. All-day slogs, language malfunctions, petty rule enforcement, plain rudeness, and wars of attrition are all "features not bugs" for insiders. There's no incentive to make ward conventions quick, open, accessible, or unalienating to newcomers. Just the opposite!

Does anyone have thoughts on MnDOT's Lowry & University design options? Is there any way to save the beautiful brick building Stanley's Northeast Bar or is it destined to get bulldozed for an urban semi-truck turn lane? www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projec...
