Reminder that they have lied about this in the past. They said the selfies and ID pictures for the EU and UK were not saved, then there was a data breach and shocker, they were saved and all got leaked. Do not trust this company for shit. The second a reliable, usable alternative appears I'm gone.

I won’t support additional funding for ICE unless we put guardrails in place to make sure ICE is better trained and actually focused on making our communities safer.

I have heard from staff and their unions that workers at the City of Minneapolis have been abducted by ICE while on the job or while coming to and from work. This lays out clearly why the City must be vigilant in the enforcement of the separation ordinance.

My schedule's opening up a bit in a few weeks. If anyone has some music they're making to benefit Minneapolis and/or people negatively impacted by the fascist nightmare we're facing, I'd be happy to do some pro-bono mixing and/or mastering. Hit me up with your project and let's talk details.

impeach impeach impeach
This is part of a pattern that is impeachable: Trump cuts previously appropriated Congressional funds, but only to states led by Democrats (California, Colorado, Illinois and Minnesota).
The Trump administration plans to rescind $600 million in public health funds from four states led by Democrats because it finds the grants “inconsistent with agency priorities,” according to documents reviewed by the NYT

My friend Debbie wrote this great thread about the context of Surya Bonaly’s famous backflip and the history of backflips in the sport as well as Surya’s prestigious career.

A large account on here decided to only read every other word and dunk post and that’s why we can’t have nice things
Surya Bonaly is a multi Olympian, world medalist, euros champion, and French national champion, and did it all during a time when #figureskating wasn’t exactly the friendliest to its skaters of color.

But sure, let’s reduce her to fake news about her doing a (really awesome) one footed backflip.

Notable that basically everyone is NIMBY about these, even jerks like Fetterman, who opposes the one planned for Tremont, Pennsylvania. ICE concentration camps pay no taxes while also making huge demands on local infrastructure, everything from water to sewage to power to hospitals.
ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...

Given how they dealt with the "detention center" in New Jersey, I don't expect them to actually get appropriate permits, either. I think that these are absolutely concentration camps where the survival of the detainees is not prioritized. Never mind comfort, they don't care if they die.
February 9, 2026 at 9:53 PM
Yeah. The term "warehouse" is doing a lot of heavy lifting, I think. I haven't seen any reporting on what type of warehouse these buildings are, nor any discussion of what it will take to do the conversion.

Surya was amazing on the ice. She was utter fire; grace and power and intensity, so much fun to watch. I didn't know, until later, the absolute shit she had to deal with. I loved every moment I spent watching her skate.

I know they're spending money like drunk sailors, but I don't think they've really thought, at all, about ventilation, sewer capacity, or even potable water. I remember seeing someone explaining how expensive it would be to convert office buildings into housing. It was daunting.
February 9, 2026 at 9:20 PM
I'm going to lay this marker down: it is not possible to convert a warehouse into humane housing for humans, even by the very bad standards of modern prisons. It would be cheaper to raze and rebuilt. The reason to buy warehouses is that they have no plans to house people humanely.

i keep thinking about this
Years ago, a friend asked me why billionaires want MORE money when they could never spend the tiniest fraction of what they have.

My answer is that they want immunity. The immunity to do literally any horrific they want without consequence.

Nothing I've seen since has changed my mind.

We all knew from the jump we would be on our own. And that’s why none of us waited.

And when it started going around that rightwing chuds from Twitter were “infiltrating” chats, it didn’t much matter because there’s so many. Most of the really organized areas have more than one for any one thing.
