The recent ICE raid which emptied an entire apartment building was apparently at the request of Wells Fargo, which is trying to foreclose on the building.

I mean, if economic power tops everything, we might as well toss in the towel, the billionaires have won. I think that solidarity matters, and I think that politics matter. Organizing locally is important, but so is what is happening on the national stage. We need to raise our voices there, too.

It's been suggested that it will be a lot like the Troubles in Ireland, and that's perfectly terrifying...especially since this country is larger and has more guns. I don't see any prep work being done for some states to band together agasint the Federal government, so that probably won't happen.

I don't think I disagree with you, but my question was what happens on a larger scale. Individual action, small collectives, organized protests, these are all good. But if we end up in a civil war, I'm wondering what the sides will be, and how it will be prosecuted.

The media landscape is so different, now. It's not like an incident can "make the nightly news" and then be the topic of conversation, nation-wide. That model _also_ had its pitfalls. It's one of the reasons Carter was not re-elected.
