Hadn't occured to me until just then that the actual King is sharing his official birthday with the wannabe King. Many happy returns to one, but not the other.

What utter piffle. Who in their right mind pays for this bollocks? How are British newspaper columnists so weird yet so dull?

How is Germany so weird yet so dull?
German eccentricity lives on – through meat dishes, model trains, and topless miniatures – in a country that is simultaneously dull.

This is a direct assault on scientific freedom, with global science leadership of the U.S. as collateral. (Still) unthinkable over here in Europe... but who knows what's next.

Genau so.

"...the Bundestag election is not just a watershed moment for Germany, it’s one for global politics as well."
Mandatory reading before tomorrow - particularly any Germans voting.
So much is at stake when Germany goes to the polls tomorrow. My take on Friedrich Merz and a huge mistake he made during the campaign.
While Germany can't be seen as that borderline-boring bastion of stability anymore, the centre might get its act together after all, ironically thanks to JD Vance. 👇
The far right rising
Ahead of a historic German election, the AfD is courting the global right – and threatening to upend European politics.

1,689 days of murder, pain, suffering, and humiliation were over.
Today, we all remember. We must keep remembering.

It’s time for THE charger.

Today, the USB-C becomes officially the common standard for charging new mobile electronic devices in the EU.

It means better-charging technology, reduced e-waste, and less fuss to find the chargers you need!
