It's not just the sock puppetting for me, its the view he gives the sock puppet of himself. He legitimately believes he is 'the only truth teller' which is a level of madness that is normally reserved for comic book villains.
I sincerely cannot think of a less provocative, less trolly thinker than Yglesias whose whole thing is mostly just to insist that obviously true things are in fact true.

Oh my fucking god I love this game design. Put the collectable/lootable plant on the one arm of the stature so you find the button on the other arm but feel 'clever' for finding it even though they basically markered it
