The problem is that they're our hereditary rivals. Before we came along, they were the only animals in Africa with the jaw strength to break into the long bones to get the marrow. Then we invented stone tools and BAM! Instant rivalry. We gotta diss them or they might steal our marrow bones.

Am I going to have to try Battletech now? It was off my radar, but a quick look at the Steam store page suggests I may have a new addiction. Damn.

I'm actually pretty good with the first age. It plays like a conventional 4x.
But the goals in age two feel a little contrived. In age three, they're just gonzo.
It's also got some severe UI problems that they just haven't addressed.

I want to like Civ VII. I've tried. 199.3 hours played, with one, count it, one game that I bothered to play through to the finish.

Maybe next point release...
