I have no idea what it cost my insurance company, or whether the state kicks in part of the cost. That wouldn't surprise me. Rabies is endemic and MA takes it seriously.

After each followup shot, Animal Control call me to make sure I had actually gotten the shot.

Boston area - my copay for any ER visit is $300. That was my total cost for the entire rabies series. They didn't charge for the followups. Insurance covered everything else.
