Excited to share our collaborative work with Sheila Singh's lab: we performed an in vivo genome-wide CRISPRa screen using a lung TRACERx PDX model to uncover drivers of brain metastasis. BACE1 - already investigated as target in Alzheimer's - was as a key hit.

A genome-wide in vivo CRISPR activation screen identifies BACE1 as a therapeutic vulnerability of lung cancer brain metastasis
Beta-secretase 1 promotes the spread of lung cancers to the brain through epidermal growth factor receptor signaling.

Following on from our recent paper showing novel post-transcriptional roles for B-catenin in leukaemia cells, a very well done to Drs Sevim & Park for writing a superb review in @natureportfolio.nature.com Oncogene summarising our current understanding of this field.

We're excited to see the launch of the TARGET study, co-led by @billgrey.bsky.social, to tackle AML relapse by targeting chemo-resistant stem cells.

This could mean oral treatments at home, fewer side effects, and safer options for all. 🧡

Excited to share our work - online today as a preprint. Here, we characterize precocious aging in HSCs of mice and people with sickle cell disease. Excitingly, we demonstrate the potential of senolytics to restore HSC function to the bone marrow of mice with SCD.

Senolytics Restore Hematopoietic Stem Cells Function in Sickle Cell Disease
Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is a blood disorder affecting millions worldwide. Emerging evidence reveals that SCD pathophysiology increases risk of myeloid malignancies and hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) ...
