I have read this great initiative spearheaded by Heriot-Watt civil engineering students on reopening Edinburgh's South Suburban Line using Tram-Trains.

Article: www.hw.ac.uk/news/2025/ca...

Also, I have signed this petition to get this idea off the paper.

Independent discovery of Bluesky Social by university students are rare because the majority of them are only interested in using popular platforms where their friends are, and not exploring the open world full of friendly strangers and potential friends. I am glad I am on this platform.

Starting on July, I will be sharing some heated personal opinions about the University of Edinburgh and the Edinburgh University Students’ Association.

There are some things I can’t forgive them due to actions best described as both acute and egregious.

People aren’t becoming anti-technology so much as they’re increasingly exhausted by the tech world’s hype and hyperbole. Decades of disruption, revolutionary changes, looming crises and dystopias. It’s all so exhausting.

I may have exaggerated about the honesty of this so-called “state of emergency” at the University of Edinburgh, but my points still stand as we are currently in a turmoil.
To be honest, the University of Edinburgh is already in a state of emergency academically and socially.

I’ve told everyone who would listen that P92 (a.k.a., Barcelona), made by Meta, is a bigger deal than Bluesky.

If you look very closely, there’s a mastodon.social username in the screenshot. Which means they have ActivityPub integration baked into the app.

The way we build & grow social networks and apps can amplify and exacerbate the existing inequities in society. But it doesn’t have to be that way. (This piece is from 7 years ago; it’s about how networks are shaped by who gets access.) https://medium.com/humane-tech/network-inequality-3309fb1aac59

The solution to hunger is food.

The solution to homelessness is housing.

The solution to poverty is money.

The solution to the mental health crisis is universal mental healthcare.

All of these issues are linked but the solutions are direct and effective when applied universally.

I might start posting content about the University of Edinburgh and the Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA), because I want the Bluesky Social community to know more about one of the greatest university and students’ union in the world.
