The Chancellor says she 'fixed' a problem caused by “some snails or something”.

Comments like this pit nature against growth – it’s the wrong target.

Here, the system has worked: protecting one of UK’s rarest species while allowing 20,000 homes to proceed.

Oh dear, Rachel - what have you said now?

There is a reason why species are protected. To risk the extinction of a species for a few houses is #uncivilised, #ignorant, #AntiScience and shows no respect for life-forms considered more lowly than herself. Who's next?

NEW: 156 organisations call for EU-wide ban on new waste incineration.

Why?
🔥 EU already has 60M tonne overcapacity crisis.
🌍 Higher carbon emissions than many energy sources.
♻️ Blocks circular economy progress.

Awful. It's also about access to environmental information, btw., such as getting information about levels of local pollution. Right now, with the UK being in the convention, challenges can only be brought if there's a credible argument of legal flaws in a decision. Now, even that right is at risk.

Despite the promises of governments of all colors, and relentless propaganda from the intensive farm lobby, the collapse of nature continues steadily.

The collapse of farmland birds is just a reflection of a self destructive farming system.

We can change, if we wanted.

EP committees just rejected the proposed EU #forests monitoring law.

Great victory for the nihilistic clear-cuts forestry lobby.

With climate change hammering our forests we desperately need comparable data. But the Trumpian logic is that if you don't measure problems they will disappear.
